Government signs agreement with the Archive and Museum of Timorese Resistance

The Ministry of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers (MPCM) and the Archive and Museum of Timorese Resistance (AMTR) signed, on last November 22nd, in Dili, a Memorandum of Understanding, in order to “optimize and create cooperation and partnership between both institutions, namely through the dissemination of literary works from national authors, nationally and internationally recognized”, as it can be read in the document.

This agreement aims to support the management of cultural activities “which  contribute to building national identity, essential to develop a modern and more socially cohesive country”, such as “conducting workshops, lectures, launching of literary works, painting exhibitions, and other events of cultural and institutional aim”. Cooperation areas also include “the use and boosting of the AMTR’s facilities, within the referred activities” and “the sale of artworks donated by the PCM to AMTR”.

The Memorandum of Understanding was signed by the Director-General of the PCM, Victor Maia, and the Director of AMTR, “Hamar” Antoninho Baptista.
