Group of children from remote areas visit Government Palace

A group of around 70 children from remote areas of all the national municipalities, visiting Dili as part of the Commemorations of the 48th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Independence, visited the Government Palace today, November 27th 2023. 34981d27-8d7f-44db-b037-755dc70a01fe

The children were welcomed by the Prime Minister, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, accompanied by the Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Agio Pereira and the Secretary of State for Social Communication, Expedito Dias Ximenes.a63f7422-30cb-4bd0-9517-291796bd3e88

During the visit, the group had the opportunity to see the Council of Ministers meeting room where important decisions for the future of Timor-Leste are taken, as well as listen to the Prime Minister's explanations about how the Government works and put forward their doubts and suggestions.

They also had the opportunity to visit the various areas of the Government Palace, including the Prime Minister's Office, the Land and Maritime Borders Office and the meeting and press conference room of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers. 96a6f503-be5a-41c7-9dc4-c4140e99fb53

The visit to Dili by the 70 children from remote areas included visits to the Presidency of the Republic, the National Parliament, Expo Tais at the Secretariat of State for Art and Culture, the Archives-Museum of the Timorese Resistance, Timor Plaza, Areia Branca Beach and Tibar Harbour.
