Timor-Leste to Host the First 2021 Quarterly Development Partners Meeting on February 19

The Ministry of Finance and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation of Timor-Leste, will host the first 2021 Quarterly Development Partners Meeting (QDPM) on Friday, 19 of February 2021, from 08:30 to 13:00 at the Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão Auditorium, Ministry of Finance.

This half-day meeting will be chaired by the Minister of Finance, Rui Augusto Gomes and co-chaired by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Adaljiza Magno. The meeting will serve as a forum for both the Government and the Development Partners to continue to maintain open communication and to keep both sides updated on issues that could affect the nation’s development.

During the event, there will be a presentation from the Ministry of Finance on the 2021 General State Budget and the Government’s policies on the economic recovery for both medium-term and long-term. This session will be an opportunity for the Development Partners to learn more about the Government’s approach and how best to potentially provide the support needed.

The Ministry of Health will present the COVID-19 Responses and the National Vaccine Deployment Plan. In this session, participants will be informed on the Government’s plan and how it will proceed, areas that needs additional Development Partners to support on, and how best to structure those potential supports. Following this session, the Australian Embassy in Timor-Leste will also present a compilation of all relevant development partners’ support towards vaccine deployment, thus providing a full picture of the shared efforts towards an effective vaccine rollout.

The meeting will be concluded with the Development Partners Tour de Table where each participants will provide high-level updates on their existing and upcoming planned activities that may be relevant to the government and other stakeholders to be aware of.

This upcoming meeting will be participated by the representatives from the relevant Government line ministries, Diplomatic Corps, Development Partners, Private Sector, Civil Society Organizations and the Media.
