Vote of Condolence for the Death of Dan Murphy
It is with great sadness and great regret that the Government of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste received the news of the death of the north-american doctor Dan Murphy, victim of cardiac arrest, yesterday, April 14.
Since 1998, Dr. Dan, the founder of the Bairro Pité Clinic, has maintained an intense activity in the treatment of the most vulnerable in Timor-Leste. Every day, the Pité Clinic receives hundreds of patients, namely in the treatment of leukemia, tuberculosis, HIV/AIDS and other diseases.
Dan Murphy's contribution and extreme dedication to the treatment of the most vulnerable will never be forgotten and will forever be remembered with great affection, admiration and respect by all Timorese.
At this time of great regret, the Government of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste extends its deepest condolences to the family of the esteemed Dr. Dan and the thanks of a nation forever grateful. ENDS
