Interministerial Commission discusses master plan for the rehabilitation of Presidente Nicolau Lobato International Airport

The Interministerial Commission for the negotiation of financial support for the rehabilitation of President Nicolau Lobato International Airport met on 22 October 2019 at the Government Palace in Dili to articulate the proposed master plan for the rehabilitation of the Airport to be subject to approval of the Council of Ministers.

The Interministerial Commission, together with the Interministerial Working Group for the President Nicolau Lobato International Airport Development Project, reviewed the technical, social, environmental, financial and legal requirements of the options for the extension of the airstrip and the requalification of the airport terminal, to submit to the approval of the project development plan by the Council of Ministers.

Established on May 24, 2019, the Interministerial Commission is chaired by the Minister of State of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers and is composed by the Minister of Finance, the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, the Minister of Public Works and the Minister of Transport and communications.

The meeting was also attended by technicians from the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, the Ministry of Finance, the Ministry of Transport and Communications, the National Aviation Authority of Timor-Leste (ANATL) and the Civil Aviation Authority of Timor-Leste (AACTL).
