Statement on the Restructure of the Fifth Constitutional Government of Timor-Leste
The spokesperson of the Fifth Constitutional Government, Minister of State Agio Pereira, confirms that the process of restructuring Government of Timor-Leste, outlined by Prime Minister H.E. Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão last year, is underway.
Members of Government have received letters regarding the restructure.
An official announcement about the make up of the Government, which has a mandate to lead Timor-Leste till 2017, is scheduled to take place early next week.
In his Christmas message the Prime Minister asked his colleagues to prepare for these changes, to be made in the national interests of Timor-Leste noting that “if we have done many good things we still can do better.”
The objective of the restructure is to achieve more efficient and effective government focused on service delivery to the people of Timor-Leste.
