Commemorating the 36th Anniversary of the Proclamation of Independence of Timor-Leste (November 28, 1975)
Timor –Leste will celebrate on November 28, 2011 the 36th anniversary of the Declaration of Independence.
The event will take place at the President's Palace.
According to the program prepared by the Ministry of State Administration and Territorial Planning, the ceremony begins with a Mass of thanksgiving at the Díli Cathedral on November 27 by 7.30 a.m.
The official ceremony of the Hoist the Flag, led by the President of the Republic, José Ramos-Horta, will be held on November 28 at 8 a.m., and will be attended by the President of the National Parliament, Fernando Lasama de Araújo, the Prime Minister, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão and the President of the Court of Appeal, Claúdio Ximenes, among other guests.
The harnessing of the National Flag will close the celebration, in the afternoon.
