Council of Ministers meeting of August 24, 2011
The Council of Ministers met this Wednesday, August 24, 2011 in the Council of Ministers Meeting Room in the Government Palace in Díli, and approved:
1. Government Resolution that approves the Establishment of a Working Mechanism for Gender at National and District Level
The Secretariat of State for the Promotion of Equality (SoSPE) today saw the Council of Ministers approve a Resolution that establishes a working mechanism for gender, at national and district level, in line with the Government Resolution N°. 11 / 2008, which ensures the integration of a gender perspective in the development of strategies, policies, programs and legislation within the Government’s scope.
After having identified the Gender Focal Points in each Ministry / Secretariat of State the National Working Groups on Gender must be established, coordinated by SoSPE, since it is important that they continue to meet to work in a coordinated and collaborative way with various sectors at district and national level.
