Meeting of the Council of Ministers on December 20th, 2023
The Council of Ministers met at the Government Palace in Dili and approved the draft Decree-Law on the Regime of the rights of holders and members of sovereign bodies and holders of political office.
This Decree-Law aims to complement the regimes established in Law no. 7/2007, of July 25th, and Law no. 14/2009, of October 21st, relating to the rights of holders and members of sovereign bodies and holders of political office. The aim is to consolidate and make the rules currently in force more understandable. The law covers several areas, including the right to an official residence, accommodation allowances, mobile communications, medical assistance and personal security.
This draft Decree-Law had already been approved by the VIII Constitutional Government at the meeting of the Council of Ministers on March 15, 2023, however, given that the diploma was not promulgated during the previous legislature, a new assessment of the diploma is necessary. END
