The Minister of Tourism, Commerce and Industry, Gil Alves, accompanied by the Vice-Minister of Finance, Rui Hanjam and by the Secretary of State of Environment, Abílio Lima, inaugurated last Friday the Areia Branca Garden.

During his speech, the Minister of Tourism, Commerce and Industry referred that the Government is committed in creating a good image of the country, to achieve success and for this to be reflected in the People, of which this project is an example.

The company Montana Diak talked about the commitment and work from Areia Branca to Cristo-Rei, of the challenges they faced and showed that it was pleased with the result while at the same time proud for the trust MTCI bestowed upon them. The result of that commitment gave rise to the asphalt road with approximately 400 meters in length and 7.60 meters in width.

Francisco Xavier, the Suco chief, thanked these repairs to the Government and at the same time made an appeal regarding the safety in the area to avoid vandalism, such as destruction of the lights, statues and others.

The representative from the village Karunglulau-rua population, Metiaut Suco, André Pires, manifested his satisfaction with the repairs although maintaining concern with the lack of public light from Santa Ana to Metiaut.
