26th Meeting of the AULP

The Timor Lorosa’e National University (UNTL) is organizing the 26th Meeting of the Association of Portuguese Speaking Universities (Portuguese acronym – AULP).
The main theme is “academic mobility and globalization within the CPLP and Macau” and several subthemes such as:
- Policies and strategies to enable academic mobility in Portuguese speaking countries;
- Science: diffusion and development(s) in the Portuguese language;
- Sign Routes: directions, migrations and interculturality;
- Landscapes, nature and culture;
- Other challenges of the PSUA higher education institutions.

This association gathers more than 150 universities and institutions from CPLP countries and, for the first time since its foundation, 30 years ago, it is holding its annual meeting in Timor-Leste. Thus, more than 100 representatives, namely University Deans from the CPLP, Macau, Australia and Malaysia are gathering in Díli.

Participating in this event will be Alexis Tam Chon Weng (Secretary of State for Social Affairs and Culture from the Government of the Special Administrative Region of Macau), Wei Zhao (Macau University Dean), João Sàágua (Vice Dean for the New University of Lisbon), Francisco Chocolate (Vice Dean for the 11 November University (Moçambique)), Nuno Mangas (President of the Leiria Polytechnic Institute (Portugal)), Rui Martins (President for PSUA and Vice Dean of the Macau University) and Georgina Melo (representative of the Executive Secretariat for CPLP), among others.
From Timor-Leste, present at the meeting will be the UNTL Dean, Francisco Martins, as well as professors Miguel Maia dos Santos, Vicente Paulino and Irta Sequeira Baris de Araújo.
