Exhibition, from June 9th to 16th
Place: National Parliament (before continue on travelling)

The Ministry of State Administration (MSA) celebrates the International Archives Day, which is celebrated in various countries on June 9th, with the exhibition "National Archive: we are memory and good governance", in order to disclose the mission of this institution in safeguarding national memory.

MSA defends that the community’s knowledge of the National Archive values its role as a heritage that belongs to all.

With this exhibition, the National Archive achieves its mission in the context of the national development policies, reminding us that it is up to each citizen to defend the collective heritage and the transparency of Public Administration. Regarding rights, the Archive reinforces the right to Memory and Information.

This is a traveling exhibition that, after being in the Parliament, between June 9th and 16th, will then travel throughout the country.

The International Archives Day was established by the General Assembly of the International Council on Archives, held in 2007. This date was chosen for having been on June 9th, 1948, that UNESCO created the ICA - International Council on Archives, an independent international organization made up of members of various types of archival organizations, by professionals and students in the area, and which works to reach the competent information bodies on good practices on document management.
