Prime Minister attends major UN Conferences in Bali and Samoa

On 28 August the Prime Minister will be traveling to Bali to attend the Sixth Global Forum of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations. He will deliver an address to the Opening Session of the Forum along with the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon and the President of the Republic of Indonesia, Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono. Various global leaders will also be at the Forum and the Prime Minister will hold bi-lateral meetings with senior UN Officials and foreign leaders.

The Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, José Luís Guterres, accompanies the Prime Minister on this visit to Bali.

From 1 to 3 September the Prime Minister will be attending the 2014 UN Conference on Small Island Developing States, in Samoa. The Conference will be attended by the Secretary-General of the United Nations, Ban Ki-moon and Heads of State and Government from across the world. The Conference is a major international conference on development and sustainability in the lead up to the United Nations General Assembly and Consideration of the post-2015 development agenda. The Prime Minister will be speaking on the need for peace and stability to achieve development goals and will be holding bi-lateral meetings with various Heads of State and Government.
