Prime Minister had a meeting with Security Council and Situation Room
The Prime Minister, Taur Matan Ruak, convened a meeting with the Security Council (F-FDTL - PNTL) and the Situation Room, at the Prime Minister's official residence, in the Farol Neighbourhood, this Monday, May 3rd. The purpose of the meeting was to review the evolution of the COVID-19 situation in our country, the vaccination process that is taking place, the imposition of the sanitary fence and the general compulsory home confinement in the capital, Dili, and the cooperation between the F-FDTL and PNTL, to ensure security in the national territory, during the fight against the COVID-19 outbreak.
The draft Government Resolution on the renewal of the imposition of sanitary fences in the municipalities of Ainaro, Baucau, Dili, Ermera, Covalima and Viqueque, for another 14 days, until May 16, 2021, at 23:59, was approved. Also approved were the draft resolutions of the Government on the imposition of sanitary fences in the municipalities of Lautém, Liquiçá and Manufahi, from April 30th 2021 at 00:00 a.m. and until May 16th 2021 at 11:59 p.m. Therefore, the movement of people between these municipalities and the remaining administrative districts is prohibited, except in cases justified on grounds of public security, public health, humanitarian assistance, maintenance of public supply systems or other reasons of public interest.
The Council of Ministers also approved, with amendments, the Government's draft Resolution on the imposition of general mandatory confinement for all persons residing in the municipality of Dili, which must remain in their homes or in their temporary accommodation, from April 30th, 2021, at 00:00 a.m. until May 13th, 2021, at 23:59 p.m.
This meeting was attended by the Minister of Defence, Filomeno da Paixão de Jesus, the Vice-Minister of Interior, António Armindo, Lieutenant General Lere Anan Timur, the General Commander of the PNTL, Police Commissioner Faustino da Costa, the Second General Commander of the PNTL, Police Commissioner Mateus Fernandes, the Director of the Integrated Crisis Management Centre, Brigadier-General, João Miranda "Aluk Descartes", Commodore Donaciano Costa Gomes Pedro "Klamar Fuik", the Commander of the PNTL Dili municipality, Chief Superintendent of Police, Henrique da Costa and the Commander of the PNTL Operations Command, Chief Superintendent of Police, Pedro Belo.
