Inauguration of Sacred House of Suco of Nunu Moge, on the district of Ainaro
The sacred house Lulik Lokometa-Darlau Nunufu in sucu Nunu Moge, sub-district Hatubuilico, district of Ainaro, is inaugurated this week in the presence of Secretary of State for Culture and the Ambassador of United States of America in Timor-Leste, Hans Klemm.
This inauguration is to be held on 22nd and 23rd of April and is part of a cooperation project between the Timorese State Secretariat of Culture and the USA Embassy in Timor-Leste. Under this project, the U.S. embassy donated a support of $ 32,000 (thirty two thousand US dollars) to restore four sacred houses in the districts of Lautém, Oe-Cusse Ambeno, Bobonaro and Ainaro.
This important project of recovery of the traditional architectural heritage of Timor-Leste, which began in 2008, will continue throughout 2010 and in the coming years, aiming to restore a substantial part of the cultural identity of the local communities of the country.
