The Ministry of State Administration and Territorial Planning (MoSATP) and the Office of the Ombudsman for Human Rights and Justice (Portuguese acronym PDHJ) signed, this Friday, April 8, at the PDHJ meeting room, a Memorandum of Understanding with the aim to capacitate community leaders regarding Human Rights, to act as mediators in issues that may arise.

With the signature of this Memorandum of Understanding, the National Directorate for Support to Suco Administration, from MAEOT, and the PDHJ Directorate for Human Rights intend to cooperate to find solutions that allow for the resolution of issues arising from the communities.

In the ceremony, the Ombudsman for Human Rights and Justice, Sebastião Dias Ximenes highlighted that “it is the PDHJ’s responsibility to promote the Human Rights, thus in this way, this Memorandum of Understanding allows that, through training, knowledge can be transferred to the community leaders, regarding Human Rights and they can become mediators of the problems that come from the community’s social environment and that is very important”.

The PDHJ will make available the trainers and the training will have the duration of one year.
