Government stands in solidarity with Belgium
The Government of Timor-Leste expresses its solidarity with the Government and people of Belgium after the attacks taking place in Brussels yesterday that have tragically resulted in serious injury and loss of life.
The Government of Timor-Leste condemns the attacks occurring at Zaventem Airport and Maelbeek Metro in Brussels as unacceptable criminal acts of violence and sincerely conveys its condolences to the families and friends of those killed and injured. It also commends the work of security and emergency services responding at this challenging time.
Spokesperson for the Sixth Constitutional Government, Minister of State Agio Pereira noted “Our thoughts are with the people of Belgium at this time and we are particularly mindful of those who have been personally impacted by yesterday’s events. The Government of Timor-Leste stands in solidarity with Prime Minister Charles Michel and the Government of Belgium as they respond in these difficult days.”
