Groundbreaking ceremony for the new Dili Port TerminalThe ceremony, organized by the Ministry of Public Works, Transport and Communications and the Port Administration of Timor-Leste (APORTIL), was held on the 8th of August. The existing passenger terminal, used by vessels connecting Dili to Oe-Cusse Ambeno and Ataúro, will be replaced by a larger facility with improved functionality, to be constructed in the western part of the Port near the Lighthouse. The Government is moving and upgrading the terminal to cater for increased traffic and to support future growth. The project is partially financed by the Government of Japan.
