Prime Minister visits the United Kingdom, Portugal and Indonesia

Working visit to the United Kingdom, from January 31 to February 4

This working visit is based in London where the Prime Minister will meet Members of Parliament in the House of Commons in Westminster to update them on the progress of Timor-Leste and engage in interactive dialogue.
The Prime Minister will also meet with members of the British Business Community to encourage international investment in the country.
This visit allows an opportunity to meet with members of Timor-Leste’s international legal team and will include a reception at the newly established Embassy of Timor-Leste in London.

Working visit to Portugal, from February 4 to 8

Throughout this visit, held in Lisbon, the Prime-Minister will meet with the President of the Portuguese Republic, the Prime Minister and other members of the Portuguese Government.
The Prime Minister will meet the Representatives of the Accredited Missions of the Community of Portuguese Language Countries (CPLP) and participates in the launching his latest book "Xanana Gusmão and the first 10 years of Timor-Leste’s State building". These events take place at the CPLP’s Headquarters.
On the last day of the visit, the Institute of Social and Political Sciences (Portuguese acronym: ISCSP) will award Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão with the Doctor "Honoris Causa" degree.

The Prime Minister departs from Lisbon on Saturday the 8th of February, bound for the Indonesian capital (Jakarta), and will arrive in Dili on February 11.
