Grant of the morning of February 13, 2013, off until 12 o’clock midday
The V Constitutional Government of Timor-Leste has decided to grant the morning of February 13, off to all employees of ministries, departments and State agencies including all State institutes and bodies.
This decision is based on the Law n.o 10/2005 from August 10, which determines the national holidays, the official commemorative dates and days-off.
Among the official commemorative dates is Ash Wednesday, which each year has a variable date. Ash Wednesday is a solemn day of great importance for the Christian Community: it is the first day of Lent in the Catholic calendar that occurs forty days before Easter. Therefore, the Government grants the morning of Wednesday 13 of February, 2013 off.
