Timor-Leste Development Partners Meeting (TLDPM)

From 15 May until 16 May

This last Meeting of the Timor-Leste Development Partners, under the mandate of the IV Constitutional Government will be held on 15 and 16 May at the Díli Convention Center.

The theme for this year's meeting is "A Nation Moving Forward – Handover Achievement, Challenges & Opportunities for the Future".

The purpose of the meeting is to reflect on past challenges, the achievements and opportunities for the future, to draw a common strategic direction that goes through strengthening the alignment between partners, and the effectiveness of the implementation of development programs.
The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Zacarias Albano da Costa, and the Minister of Finance, Emília Pires will chair the meeting, which will be officially opened by the President of the Republic, Dr. José Ramos-Horta.

After two brief speeches, by the representative of the acting Secretary-General of the United Nations, Shigeru Mochida, and the Timor-Leste World Bank Country Director, Luís Constantino, the Prime Minister, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, will reflect on the ten years of Timor-Leste’s State-building. Before the official photo session with the heads of delegation, the Economic Adviser for the Minister for International Cooperation in Egypt and Chairman of the OECD-DAC Working Party on Aid Effectiveness, Talaat Abdel-Malek, will address the conference.
The meeting will have its sessions, divided in two days.

On the 15, the first session will focus on the "Presentation of Past and Present Challenges and Achievements from 2007-2012".
On the 16, the second session will discuss "Future Challenges and Opportunities".
The IV constitutional Government Handover Ceremony will take place before the Prime Minister, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão’s closing speech.
