Meeting of the Council of Ministers on November 30, 2011
The Council of Ministers met this Wednesday, November 30, 2011, in the Council of Ministers Meeting Room at the Government Palace in Díli, and approved:
1. Decree-Law that approves the Legal Framework for the Technical and Vocational Education
The IV Constitutional Government supports the development of professional training and professional education as one of the ways to modernize education in Timor-Leste. This development goes through the support to the implementation of a network of professional schools, of local initiative, with articulated use of available resources in the various departments of the State.
This measure is a response to the need to increase the qualification of the country’s human resources. The objectives and training programs to be developed in the professional schools take into account international norms and standards directly related to the levels of achieved learning, subject to any adjustments that are necessary during a transition period.
