MoTCI sends six scholarship student to study Tourism in Portugal

Six students received a scholarship to study Tourism and on September 9, signed an agreement with the National Director for Tourism, José Quintas, in the presence of the Minister of Tourism, Commerce and Industry, Gil Alves. These scholarships allow for the attendance in a tourism course in the Tourism and Hospitality Higher Education School, in Portugal.

The scholarship programme is the fruit of a Memorandum of Understanding signed in 2012 between the Ministry of Tourism, Commerce and Industry and the Tourism and Hospitality Higher Education School.

Both parties agreed on the financial support. The Ministry of Tourism, Commerce and Industry is responsible for travel costs, travel insurance, visas (Portugal and Indonesia), airport taxes and a monthly allowance in cash. The Tourism and Hospitality Higher Education School in Estoril is responsible for the establishment, school fees and food allowance.

There were 105 applicants for the scholarships, 23 of these which passed the document selection phase. Interviews and tourism knowledge tests were carried out and from those resulted 6 eligible applicants to receive the scholarship in the Tourism and Hospitality Higher Education School  in Estoril. The area of study programs are Entertainment in Nature, based on Tourism and Adventure, Nautical Tourism and Management of Tourism Entertainment.
