Isabel Ferreira appointed by the Prime Minister for the PSC

On June 9, 2011 in the Government Palace in Díli, the Prime Minister, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, appointed Isabel Ferreira for public office as Commissioner of the Public Service Commission, substituting Commissioner Olandina Caeiro, who is currently assuming another post abroad.

“The Council of Minister, given the fact that Olandina Caeiro was appointed Consul for Bali, in Indonesia, appointed Isabel Ferreira for the post of Public Service Commissioner, substituting in this way Maria Olandina Caeiro” informed the Prime Minister.

The President of the Public Service Commission, Libório Pereira, congratulated the new Commissioner, expressing his confidence and desire to improve the services of the Public Service, with this new presence. Libório Pereira recalled that the Commissioners are appointed for a PSC in an exclusive or partial dedication regime, for a term of 5 years. The necessary requirements for the function are: to be Timorese, to have integrity, knowledge and experience in the areas of Management of Public Administration Policy, Law, Economics and Social Development.

It should be noted that Isabel Ferreira played an important role in defending Human Rights, she took over the post of Vice-Minister of Justice in the second Constitutional Government, as is currently participating in the organization of the Defense and Security sector reform, specifically in the Monitoring Commission on the Promotion of Timor-Leste National Police (PNTL).

Attending the swearing in ceremony were the Prime Minister, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, the Government members, the President of the Public Service Commission, Liborio Pereira, and its Commissioners, the President of the Anti-Corruption Commission, Adérito de Jesus, the Deputy Ombudsman for Human Rights and Justice, Silvério Pinto, the Ambassador of New Zealand in Timor-Leste, Tim Mclvor and the General-Directors of various Ministries and State Secretariats.
