Meeting of the Council of Ministers, May 18, 2011

 

The Council of Ministers met this Wednesday, May 18, 2011, at the Council of Ministers Meeting Room, in the Goverment Palace, in Díli, and approved:

1. Decree-Law that approves the Legal Regime for the Administration and Management of the Secondary Education System

The Ministry of Education saw the approval of the Decree-Law that approves the Legal Regime for the Administration and Management of the Secondary Education System.

This Decree-Law regulates the general and technical-vocational secondary education system in order to guarantee its integrated management in the whole territory and increase the system’s efficiency, the offer of education and the student’s mobility.

2. Decree that extends the mandate of the Eventual Commission for Data Verification from the First Registration Period of National Liberation Combatants

Taking into account the difficulties and complexity of the verification of the registration requests process, the mandate of the Eventual Commission for Data Verification from the First Registration Period of National Liberation Combatants (CEVD) was extended until November 25, 2011.

The Council of Ministers also analysed:

1. Government’s Institutional Image

The Secretariat of State of the Council of Ministers presented the Government’s institutional image, prepared for all Ministries and Secretariats of State.

The objective is to standardize the image and use it in official documents to stop its random utilization.

From the logo’s use to its application, to envelopes, letters, official correspondence and memorandums, including the lettering, the institutional image was thought in order to be easily implemented in all the ministerial lines.

2. Program for the Commemoration of the World Children’s Day

The National Commission of the Children’s Rights, from the Ministry of Justice, presented to the Council of Ministers the program for the celebration of World Children’s Day that is celebrated on June 1.

The Government will centralize the celebrations in the Viqueque district and with the theme “Children’s Rights are the duty of all”.

3. Decree-Law of the First Amendment to the Organic of the Secretariat of State for Youth and Sport

The Secretariat of State for Youth and Sport presented the first amendment to its Organic.

This amendment appears from the need to contemplate the existence of services with competences in the area of Internal Audits.

The Council of Ministers discussed the post and attributions of the Inspector-General within the activities of this Secretariat of State.
