Extraordinary Meeting of the Council Ministers of November 21st, 2023
The Council of Ministers met at the Government Palace in Dili and approved the Draft Law Proposal for the 2024 General State Budget (GSB), presented by the Minister of Finance, Santina José Rodrigues F. Viegas Cardoso, with a total consolidated figure of US$ 1.95 billion for the Central Administration, RAEOA, and Social Security, not including the Social Security Reserve Fund. This figure includes an allocation of US$ 1.83 billion for the central administration and US$ 60 million earmarked for RAEOA.
Out of the total forecast expenditure for the Central Administration and RAEOA, US$ 468.8 million is allocated for salaries and wages, US$ 386.3 million for goods and services, US$ 589.7 million for public transfers, US$ 34.2 million for minor capital, and US$ 411 million for development capital.
The Social Security Budget, including the Social Security Reserve Fund, amounts to US$ 347.6 million.
It is worth noting that the 2024 General State Budget provides US$ 788.2 million for economic affairs, US$ 467.1 million for social protection, US$ 140.9 million for education, US$ 66.2 million for health and US$ 45.2 million for housing and collective infrastructures. END
