Note of Condolence on the Death of Monsignor José António da Costa
The Government of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste has received with great consternation and sorrow the news of the passing away of Monsignor José António da Costa, the Parish Priest of Dili's Cathedral and Vicar General of Dili's Archdiocese.
Monsignor José António da Costa passed away early this morning, December 28th, 2022, at the Guido Valadares National Hospital, in Dili, following a lasting illness.
In this moment of great sorrow for the religious and all the Timorese people in general, the Spokesperson of the Government, the Minister of the Presidency of the Council of Ministers, Fidelis Manuel Leite Magalhães, on behalf of the Council of Ministers and the entire Government, presents his most heartfelt condolences to the family of the esteemed Father José António da Costa and the Timorese Catholic Church.
