The Ministry of Health continues to monitor its services in the Public Administration, to prevent mismanagement, through an agreement signed with the Ombudsman for Human Rights and Justice and the General State Inspection.

This agreement, with a duration of one to two years, covers 11 municipalities and the Special Administrative Region of Oe-cusse Ambeno. It was signed in Díli on May 13th, 2015, with the objective of ensuring the resources to prevent mismanagement and promoting good governance, strengthening the control system of public institutions.

The Minister of Health, Maria do Céu Sarmento Pina da Costa, explained that this activity is directed mainly to the employees in leading positions and those responsible for programs in the national Administration and municipalities.

The Ministry of Health, the Ombudsman for Human Rights and Justice and the General State Inspection will prepare promotional materials with information on good governance, corruption prevention and care to the communities, "in order to reduce complaints," she explained.

The Ombudsman, Silvério de Fátima Pinto, said the Ombudsman for Human Rights and Justice and the General State Inspection, in cooperation with the Ministry of Health, allocated major resources to go to the base, long before the Ministry of Education.

Thus, the Ombudsman for Human Rights and Justice and the General State Inspectorate want to disseminate the principles of good governance. The goal is to remind those performing functions as National Director, General Director, Head of Department or those that have any responsibilities in the municipalities, that they have to do the job with quality, added Silvério Pinto.

The work of the Ombudsman for Human Rights and Justice is divided into two parts: providing training and monitoring.

"I hope that the agreement now signed, will bring together all the resources, both human and financial, to discuss together its applicability. I also ask for your professional commitment to serve better. You cannot harm our future", reaffirmed.
