Prime Minister returns to Timor-Leste

The Prime Minister, H.E. Dr Rui Maria de Araújo, returned to Timor-Leste today on an Air Timor flight from Singapore arriving at Presidente Nicolau Lobato International Airport in Díli at 2:15pm. He was met at the airport by family and friends, Members of Government, senior staff of the Office of the Prime Minister and local media.

At a press conference Prime Minister Araújo spoke about his medical treatment and meetings he conducted whilst in Singapore. The Prime Minister met with Singapore’s Minister for Foreign Affairs K. Shanmugam to discuss Timor-Leste’s bilateral relations with its close neighbor and also with the senior staff of the National University Hospital of Singapore to explore further cooperation in the health sector.

Prime Minister Araújo made a point of expressing Timor-Leste’s solidarity regarding the health status of Singapore’s first Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew.

H.E. Dr. Rui Maria de Araújo said that he was in good health and ready for the important week ahead where the Program of the Sixth Constitutional Government will be presented to National Parliament and the Supplementary Budget will be discussed.
