MoPW destroys rehabilitated road of bad quality
A technical team from the Ministry of Public Works (MoPW), under order of the Ministry, carried out, on April 3rd, the demolition of the road connecting Bidau to the area of ANZ Bank in Dili, of about 250 meters, due to bad rehabilitation quality.
The Minister for Public Works, Gastão de Sousa, informed that the company responsible for the project, Jonize, did not use the asphalt according to the pattern of the MoPW: “The asphalt applied on this road section doesn’t have quality, as it reaches the temperature of 250oC”.
According to the Minister, these temperatures do not allow the road rehabilitation to last long and called on every construction companies to engage themselves seriously in road construction in order to guarantee their good quality, for the benefit of the people.
The road will be paved again by the company and according to the standards of the Ministry of Public Works.
