SoSPTEP and PALOP give training to trainees from the training centres
The Secretariat of State for Professional Training and Employment Policy (SoSPTEP) has initiated, on March 10th, a training course on Economic and Creative Entrepreneurship, which took place at the National Centre for Professional Training and Employment, at Tibar. 28 trainees from every national training centre participated on the course ,as well as other people interested in entrepreneurship.
The SoSPTEP launched this training in partnership with the PALOP (Portuguese Speaking African Countries), with the support of the European Union, and Cape-Verdean and European trainees. The training session lasted for 2 weeks, having finished on March 21st.
The General Director of SoSPTEP, Jacinto Barros Gusmão, made known that the training on entrepreneurship already exists in Timor-Leste, under the name: employment creation or self-employment. However, the General Director highlighted that “it is important for Timor-Leste to work on this partnership, in order to understand the launching mechanisms of employment on the PALOP and Europe.
The Ambassador of European Union in Timor-Leste, Sylvie Tabess, referred that the aim for the implementation of the project in the PALOP and in Timor-Leste is to favour and stimulate self-employment, especially in the creative industry. “This is very important for young Timorese”, concluded the Ambassador Sylvie Tabess.
