MoSS signs cooperation agreement with 33 institutions
The Ministry of Social Solidarity (MoSS) signed a cooperation agreement in the areas of support and monitoring of people with disabilities and victims of domestic and gender based violence, protection of the rights of children and community development, along with 33 institutions of social solidarity. The agreement was signed on March 10th, 2014, at the MoSS in Caicoli-Díli. The allocated budget to support these institutions is of over one million and two hundred thousand dollars.
The Vice Minister for Social Solidarity, Jacinto Rigoberto Gomes de Deus, made known that this is an already existent relationship that is annually renewed, and that the budget allocated by the Government, in accordance with the Principle of Subsidiarity, is to support the institutions on the development of the activities that are of the responsibility of the Ministry. “We would like you to be able to develop the activities on the field more rapidly than last year”, he declared.
Following the purposes of consolidation and organization of this program, the MoSS and partners have signed, this year, a redesigned and updated Cooperation Agreement, having the Vice Minister Jacinto Rigoberto Gomes de Deus taken the opportunity to call for partners which have not yet been registered, to do it for this is one of the requirements to access Government support.
“The progress and the obstacles of institutions are a reference to the Ministry on the development of our work plan”, advanced the Vice Minister.
From the existing institutions, 19 have already received support from the National Directorate for Social Rehabilitation (NDSR), namely, Caritas Australia, Rede Feto, Alola Foundation, Fokupers, Pradet, Forum Comunicação e Juventude (FCJ), Uma Mahon Maria Tapo, Casa Vida, Uma Mahon Luzeiro, Uma Mahon Forum Peduli Wanita Oecusse, Uma Mahon Salele, Associação Chega Ba Ita (ACBIT) and seven (7) community centres which are supported under the 2011-2014 Cooperation Program, signed between Portugal and Timor-Leste.
Meanwhile, the National Directorate for Assistance and Social Cohesion (NDASC) supports: Agape, Fundação Ahisaun, Alma Sister, Caritas Diocesana Díli, Esperança, ETBU, Fuan Nabilan, Halibur Deficiência Matan Timor-Leste (HDMTL), Klibur Aleizadus Timor Lorosa’e (Katilosa), Fundação Klibur Domin, Pradet, Ordem Hospitaleira de São João de Deus, Associação Special Olimpics for Timor-Leste (SOTL) and Forum Tau Matan.
Present on this event, were the National Director for Social Rehabilitation, Antónia Carmen da Cruz, the National Director for Assistance and Social Cohesion, Amândio Amaral Freitas, Heads of Department of these national directorates of the MoSS, national and international advisors and representatives of the partners.
