"Children are the future of the nation"
The Prime Minister, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, attended a cultural presentation of talents of about 500 children (aged 5 to 12 years), in Bee-hau, Manatuto district. The event took place on the 9th of March and was organized by the Ministry of State Administration in collaboration with the Madres da Congregação do Instituto de Jesus (CIJ) and Le-Zeval cultural group. The children made presentations of cultural dances, poetry, theatre, painting, and also a competition in which they uttered texts in three languages: Tetum, Portuguese and English.
Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão was quite satisfied with the demonstration of talent of these children: "Today, in schools, we forget to notice the talent and power of children. Thanks to the efforts of the Madres, this show has already been presented in New Delta. We very much appreciate your commitment and goodwill towards your education. "
According to the Prime Minister, "children are the future of the nation of Timor-Leste. It is necessary to invest in their skills and in your talent, in any area, for the prosperity and progress of this people and this country. "
The Minister of State Administration, Jorge da Conceição Teme, recalled "the collaboration of Le-Zeval Foundation with the Madres of ICJ aims to ensure and promote the talent and ability of these children, projecting them into a prosperous future where stability, peace and progress reigns. "
The Ministry of State Administration should ensure the administrative management of the population, from the villages to the capital, paying attention to the people, together with the Ministry of Tourism and the Secretariat of State of Art and Culture.
"We want to develop and advance the talent and skill of our children in the areas of theatre, dance, music and other, to compete in the Asian region and the world at large," stated Jorge da Conceição Teme.
