SEPFOPE establishes a sub committee for the oil and gas industry
On July 30th, the State Secretariat for the Vocational Training and Employment Policy (SEPFOPE) organized, at the Timor Plaza conference room, a joint meeting with the Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, to promote the development of a subcommittee for the oil and gas industry.
Since the objective is to extend the network of development partners in the implementation of the oil and gas industry, the meeting was attended by representatives from the private sector and representatives from the civil society.
According to Ilídio Ximenes da Costa, Secretary of State for Vocational Training and Employment Policy, "this meeting's objective is to accelerate the development, and more specifically to gather ideas in order to create a subcommittee for the oil and gas industry and to prepare the human resources."
"Our country is rich but our human resources are limited and we have a high unemployment rate. So we can make these two issues complement each other. If we gather out thoughts, together we can find a solution, "continued the Secretary of State.
Alfredo Pires, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources, considered that "when we look for solutions for the development of the oil and gas sector, interministerial cooperation is an asset,"
"This Ministry is responsible for oil sector while SEPFOPE is responsible for the training. We know that we have not yet maximized our efforts and this is a challenge we must accept, "defended Alfredo Pires.
The Minister also agreed on the importance of stimulating the development of human resources in the interior of the country, through the implementation of intensive courses, thus allowing to meet corporate working criteria.
Alfredo Pires recalled that the tender for the South Coast project has already begun and therefore SEPFOPE may align its efforts to help the private sector to adequately prepare the workforce.
"The future workforce in the South Coast should be dedicated and committed to collaborate in the progress of the industrial sector," added Minister Alfredo Pires.
