General Inspectorate of State and PPAM-YPIA sign a Memorandum of Understanding on Specific Training in Auditing

The General Inspectorate of State (GIS) and the Pusat Pendidikan dan Pengembangan Audit & Manajemen Yayasan Pendidikan Internal Audit (PPAM-YPIA), from Indonesia, signed a Memorandum of Understanding, last June 5th, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, for training on Internal Auditing to GIS’s staff and technicians.

The Inspector-General of the State, Francisco Carvalho, clarified that “with this memorandum, we aim to render official the cooperation agreement signed last year over education and training on internal auditing to staff and technicians from the General Inspectorate of State and ministerial lines. This means that this Memorandum of Understanding is not only intended to staff of the General Inspectorate of State, but also to the remaining State organizations, in case of need.

Francisco Carvalho added, “according to international standards, a staff member instructed to perform the duties of an auditor, must have specific previous training in auditing”.

Ridwan Fatarudin, Chairman at PPAM-YPIA, recognized the GIS’s effort during the specific training in auditing and that the 210 staff members and general inspectors achieved good exam results, having been awarded certificates.

Present at the ceremony were the Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Constâncio Pinto, the Secretary of State of the Council of Ministers, Avelino Coelho, members of the Government, members of the Parliament and Diplomatic Corps.
