Minister of Justice inaugurates training for magistrates

On 22 April, 2013 the Minister of Justice, Dionísio Babo Soares, inaugurated the fifth training session for magistrates at the Centro de Formação Jurídica (Legal Training Centre) in Caicoli. Ten candidates were retained from the first selection phase and thirty from the second selection phase. The total of trainees who will undergo the training course for magistrates is thus forty.

“I congratulate you for having been selected to undergo this training course, which is the result of your deep commitment. The selection process was very strict in order to obtain qualified candidates to fill the available vacancies. The contents of the selection tests were based on the Criminal Procedure Code and the Civil Procedure Code. The trainees must observe discipline and learn as much as possible from this training course. The State has been making major investments by bringing trainers from Portugal to assist you in developing your skills so that we may have qualified public defenders in the future”, the Minister of Justice stressed.

Marcelina Tilman, Director of the Legal Training Centre, said that the competition process to select the candidates for this training course took place in two stages and 221 people participated, of which 164 are males and 57 females.

In attendance at the opening ceremony were the Minister of Justice, Dionísio Babo Soares, the Chairperson of the Lawyers Disciplinary Management Council, Nelinho Vital, the Director of the Legal Training Centre, Marcelima Tilman, and the trainees.
