Government initiates Training for Radio Journalists

The Technical Training Centre for Communication (CEFTEC) and the Protocol Centre for Professional Training of Journalists (CENJOR) started in April a training course for the training of Timorese radio journalists. The training is taking place at CEFTEC facilities. This is the second training activity promoted by the European Union Media Programme dedicated to radio journalism.
Over 20 candidates from all over the country undertook the admission test at the Government’s Palace, with 20 of them being selected for this training, including two from Laleia Community Radio (Rádio Nain Feto), Manatuto district, four from Rádio Universitária Académica da UNTL (Academic University Radio of the Timor-Leste National University), one from Rádio Comunidade de Maubisse (Maubisse Community Radio), one from Rádio Timor-Leste (Timor-Leste Radio). One from Rádio Comunidade de Aileu (Aileu Community Radio), one from Rádio Klibur (Klibur Radio), one from Centro das Rádios Comunitárias (Community Radios Centre), and one technician from the Media Department of the Secretariat of State for Security.
This training activity is part of the second phase of the specialised training programme for journalists (2013) funded by the European Union in the framework of the Media Programme.
The objective of the CEFTEC/CENJOR training programme is to ensure quality professional training to approximately 170 timorese journalists through the organisation of Portuguese Language courses applied to journalism, training of trainers on communication, legal affairs journalism, economic affairs journalism, and Radio. The training courses are imparted by professional journalists from CENJOR with major experience as trainers.
