For one week Isaac Murargy was in Timor-Leste with the objective of further strengthening cooperation ties between CPLP and this Member State which, for the first time, will take on the rotating presidency of this Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries in June 2014.

Fernando La Sama de Araújo spoke of the role of Timor-Leste in this organization, showing our total availability to collaborate with whatever is deemed necessary so that its presidency in the forthcoming mandate is the most beneficial for both CPLP and Timor-Leste and that it may be translated into a practical reality in the day-to-day lives of the population.

The CPLP Executive Secretary expressed his satisfaction with respect to the plain development of the country and the benefits that the good relationships with other countries may bring to the Timorese people. He quite obviously also broached the relations between Timor-Leste and Guinea-Bissau.

Isaac Murargy also had the opportunity to stress the importance of an effective cooperation in several areas. According to him, there are many countries with major economic capacity, but which need to undertake greater efforts. To that end, it is important that there should be cooperation among all States, thereby promoting a growing process among them.
