Inauguration of Exhibition “Voice of the Community” (“Lian Hosi Rai”)
The Government, through the Secretary of State for the Promotion of Equality, Idelta Maria Rodrigues, together with the Head of UNMIT Liquidation Team and the Representative of the Secretary-General of the United Nations in Timor-Leste, Finn Reske-Nielsen, inaugurated an exhibition under the topic: “Voice of the Community”. The ceremony took place on 25 January 2013 at the Dili Conventions Centre.
“Timor-Leste has been receiving support from the Millenium Development Goals Achievement Fund (MDG-F) for the implementation of a joint programme in support of gender equality and the rights of women. It also includes promotion of sustainability and food security. This exhibition will be open to the public and aims at promoting change of ideas, mindsets and attitudes with a view to preventing domestic violence”, Idelta Maria Rodrigues clarified.
On the same occasion, Finn Reske-Nielsen underlined that the programme “Voice of the Community” is part of the assessment of the case study conducted in 2012 with a view to evaluating the impact of Timor-Leste’s development process.
