Government inaugurates a bridge in Tara, Soibada

On 20 January 2013 the Government, represented by the Secretary of State for Professional Training and Employment Policy (SEPFOPE), Ilídio Ximenes da Costa, accompanied by the Bishop of Baucau Diocese, D. Basílio do Nascimento, inaugurated bridge Tara, at Soibada sub-district. Manatuto District.

Ilídio Ximenes da Costa considered that this is a means to facilitate the population of that sub-district. Tara bridge is part of “Three Dollars Program” and of Bridges to Prosperity, a program designed by SEPFOPE and which falls under the Rural Employment Program.

The construction of this bridge started in October 2012 and involves 120 workers. It materializes a cooperation between Bridges to Prosperity and SEPFOPE in which the first makes available the necessary materials and the latter contributes with the Rural Employment Program. The bridge has 160 metres long and 13 metres width.

In addition to the afore-mentioned dignitaries, local authorities and the community in general were also in attendance.
