SoSPE launches www.sepi.gov.tl website

On July 26, 2012, the website of the Secretary of State for the Promotion of Equality - www.sepi.gov.tl - was officially launched at Hotel Timor by Secretary of State Idelta Maria Rodrigues.

”The Website contains succinct information on constraints faced by women during this past decade of independence and this past half of a decade of AMP governance. It’s all available on our website, facilitating the work done by those who look to the Secretary of State for the Promotion of Equality in search of information on activities of women in each sector,” said Idelta Maria Rodrigues.

"We have to be up-to-date in a globalized and modern world, because the process of developing communication conditions helps the development of our country. With this website, we can be more informed about gender equality," concluded the Secretary of State.

On behalf of the Prime Minister, the Secretary of State for Energy Policy, Avelino Coelho, said that this website seeks not only to inform people about the activities of the Secretary of State for the Promotion of Equality, but it also open spaces for updating new information on Timor-Leste In the future.

The construction of the website received technical and financial support from the Spanish NGO PYD (Paz y Desarrollo).

The Secretary of State for the Promotion of Equality used the launching ceremony to symbolically hand over her Fourth Report on the activities of her office during the 2007 - 2012 term. Certificates were also given to the Community Radio Centres in 13 districts, to Radio Lorico Lian and RAKAMBIAN Radio, recognizing the cooperation between SEPI and the TLMDC since 2007. The Secretary of State also delivered the dispatch appointing the task force on gender and concrete actions to be developed in 2013 by working groups in the Ministries and Secretaries of State under the leadership of the Directors General .
