SoSYS provides library and internet services to the public

The Secretariat of State for Youth and Sports (SoSYS), through the National Directorate for Media, made available to the public, last May 4th, 2012, at its building, a library and internet service, after the inauguration of “Espaço de Conhecimento 5 de Maio (5th of May Knowledge Centre)”.
The inauguration ceremony was presided by the Secretary of State of Youth and Sports, Miguel Manetelo, accompanied by the Director-General, National Directors and Chief of Staff, where were also present some university students and secondary school students from Dili.
“From this day on, it will be available to the public, especially to young university and secondary school students from the capital, free access to the internet and to the library of this State Secretariat”, referred the Secretary of State.
Miguel Manetelo explained that the name, “Espaço de Conhecimento 5 de Maio”, is a historic reference to the People of Timor-Leste.
“I encourage youngest people to practice reading, to read frequently, to open the horizons of knowledge”, advised the Secretary of State.
João dos Santos, National Director for Media of the State Secretariat for Youth and Sports, advanced that in the space there are seven computers with internet access available, and it is predicted that this number will increase. The library has 3.200 books, on agriculture and sports, written in Bahasa Indonesian and English.
The “Espaço de Conhecimento 5 de Maio”, is opened to the public, from Monday to Friday, from 9 am to 12 am and from 2 pm to 4 pm.
