The Government of Timor-Leste, visits the journalist Max Stahl, in London

Following the decision of the Council of Ministers, the Government of Timor-Leste, sent the Minister for Health, Nélson Martins, to London, England, to visit the journalist Max Stahl, who is hospitalized at the Mushin Royal Hospital, in Chelsea.

In a Press Conference, upon his return from England, the Minister for Health confirmed to having been delegated by the Government "as a special envoy to directly observe, our fighting partner, Max Stahl. I arrived in London on April 25th, and immediately visited Mr. Max Stahl and his wife Dr. Ingrid, who is a paediatric doctor at the National Hospital Guido-Valadares. "

Nélson Martins learned about Max Stahl's condition from the doctor in charge, who confirmed the seriousness of his health issue, which is caused by a prolonged illness, and informed about the treatments he is being submitted to.

The Minister informed that Max Stahl will remain in London for regular treatments, during the months of July and August, and after that, will be able to return to Timor-Leste.

It should be noted that, Max Stahl was the journalist who disclosed to the world the images of the massacre at the Santa Cruz Cemetery in 1991, drawing attention to the situation that was being lived in the Country, and placing Timor-Leste at the top of the international agenda, which became an important contribution to the freedom of the Timorese people.
