SSYS organized a Scool Sports Festival

The Secretary of State for Youth and Sports (SSYS) organized the School Sports Festival, which took place between 2 and 9 December in Dili.

Students from the 13 districts participated in the event, where each district was represented by fifty-eight students plus their teachers, coaches and officials, totaling eight hundred and forty-five people.

The Secretary of State for Youth and Sports, Miguel Manetelo, in the festival opening speech, said that "through school sport we can get athletes with quality training and who may participate in high level competitions."

The Secretary of State congratulated the teachers, coaches and officials of all the districts that have managed to organize students to participate in this event and hoped that the activities were conducted successfully.

The President of the Organizing Committee, John R. M. Rodrigues recalled that from 2005 to 2010, this festival involved only five districts, while currently it involves the 13 districts of the country and for this fact he was delighted.
