Timorese work in the Tourism area in Australia

The Secretary of State for Professional Training and Employment, Bendito Freitas, had several meetings, in Broome, Australia, with Martin Ferguson from the Tourism Ministry, the last of which was held on September 7. In the meetings, Bendito Freitas and Martin Ferguson focused on the possibility of Timorese work in the tourism area, in Australia.

“I would like to thank the availability and cooperation from the Australian Tourism Ministry as it offers the opportunity for Timorese to work and gain experience in the tourism sector, in the town of Broome, Australia" said Bendito Freitas.

In turn, Martin Ferguson of the Australian Tourism Ministry, was very pleased to receive the Timorese citizens.

The Timorese workers will work for a period of four to six months, according to the regulations of the country. The Australian Government will integrate them into the local community in order to improve their knowledge of english, while making a cultural exchange and strengthen the bond of friendship between both peoples.
