Prime Minister received a delegation from Indonesia

The Timor-Leste Prime Minister and Minister of Defence and Security, Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, accompanied by the Secretary of State for Defence, Júlio Tomás Pinto, received the delegation from the Republic of Indonesia led by the Defence Minister Purnomo Yustiantoro,who was accompanied by the Indonesian Minister of Trade, Mari Pangestu, at the Government Palace, Friday, August 19, 2011.

"It's a noble act, manifested by the Republic of Indonesia through its Armed Forces, a gesture that reveals a close relationship when a few of the materials that have been captured to the FALINTIL were given back. This attitude serves as an example to the whole world, showing that war solves nothing.

After the war, the two people and the two nations should live reconciled, at peace, in a bond of friendship, and mutual and solid cooperation. This gesture comes at a time when millions and millions of people die due to warfare, is an example where all should declare to stop war and establish peace among people, which Timor-Leste and Indonesia are an example of" said the Prime Minister, Xanana Gusmão, at the press conference.

In turn, the Indonesia Defence Minister, Purnomo Yustiantoro highlighted: "In the name of the seventy members that composed the Indonesia delegation, I which to express my profound gratitude to the Timorese people, especially the Prime Minister and Minister of Defence , for the kindness, gentleness and reception given to our delegation. I also take this occasion to convey a message from the President of the Republic of Indonesia, through the Minister of Trade, Mari Pangestu and TNI Brigadier Agus Suhartono, to strengthen and ensure the friendship between the two Nations. "

On this visit, the Defence Minister of Indonesia and respective delegation also attended the ceremony of the 36th anniversary of FALINTIL, along with the demobilization of FALINTIL, at the Government Palace, on August 20 last.
