Prime Minister receives the visit of former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom
The Prime Minister Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão, received Tony Blair, former Prime Minister of the United Kingdom, on August 22nd, at the Government Palace, in Díli.
After the meeting with the former UK Prime Minister, Xanana Gusmão stated it was "a great honor for Timor-Leste, since Tony Blair was a leader who really supported Timor-Leste’s process for self-determination , not only when I was still in the Cipinang Prison, when I resorted to the British Embassy when I left, but also through the time of his governance.
"In this visit, the former Prime Minister Tony Blair gave us motivation, as a great friend and well known person in Europe and who has also been working with our friends in Africa, as well as having shown he is ready to contribute for Timor-Leste’s development in the future, "said Kay Rala Xanana Gusmão.
