On 15 June 2011 a handover ceremony of computers by UNMIT to the Government of Timor-Leste was held in the Ministry of Finance.

The package consists of 300 computers, of which 60 computers were delivered in this time, 5 of which installed, and the rest will be delivered in phases until completing the package.

Clark Toes, from the UN Liquidations Team stated that there has been a formal procedure and practice all over the world to hand over the UN assets including computers to its Government partners for their usage as the institution is closed or starts downsizing the mission  in Timor-Leste. To this end, it is expected that the equipments would be of a good value for the Government and benefit the users.

Manuel Monteiro representing the Government thanked to the UNMIT for this valuable package of computers and expect that the computers would be useful for several Government activities including Procurement training, both in the Ministry of Finance and in the districts, as well as the possibility of donating to civil society organizations, if necessary.

The ceremony was officialized and closed with the signature of an agreement between UNMIT and government representatives respectively.
