Joint exercise of the F-FDTL Naval Force and the French Maritime Force

Last Friday, the F-FDTL Naval Force and the French Maritime Force carried out a joint exercise at sea between Ataúro Island and Dili, to build capacity and deepen the relationship between the two countries’ naval forces.
The objective of the mentioned exercise was the training of the Timor-Leste Naval force by the French Maritime Force, on how to respond to problems such as fire and the entry of water in the vessel, identified as limitation and damage. Besides these, and because they are a maritime force, both also did manoeuvres using the war vessel Valdemire, which belongs to the French Maritime Force and the patrol vessels Betano e Jaco from the F-FDTL Naval Force.
This joint exercise of the two naval forces was a routine exercise that is carried out every two years.
