Youth receives training in Tourism

The Government, through the Ministry of Tourism, Commerce and Industry (MTCI), granted a US$200,000 support to ETDA (East Timor Development Agency). This grand is destined for the Training Program for young persons in the tourism area, in the ETDA room, in Fatuhada, Díli.

During the ceremony, the National Director For Tourism, José Dias Quintas, highlighted the importance of discipline in the working place and at the same time appealed to the participants to make the most of this opportunity in order to apply the obtained results to their work.

On the same occasion, the ETDA Director thanked the support granted by the Government, through the MTCI, to carry through with the program.

The ETDA is an organization that carries out a role in the training of young persons in the tourism and boarding area. Many youngsters trained by this organization have obtained a permanent job, in private companies such as hotels and restaurants, among others.

The purpose of the program is to capacitate the youngsters to be able to work with ethics and professionalism. For the success of the program, the ETDA established a cooperation partnership with existing private companies in Díli, and other districts, in order to facilitate the traineeship who currently have already completed six months of training.
